for a great cummunity the freespace watch site is one of the worse updated ones, the poll there is over 3 months old, the the V links don't work, for me to see this great fourm, attached with a bad site is bad.

1) There's one link on our main menu that doesn't work. Thats the VBB link - big deal.
2) Obviously you have more time than we do but there isn't alot of news these days so we update when necessary plus 90% of the usage that our News Submission script has been totally abused by the community so we'll probably discontinue that.
3) We were in the middle of redesigning FreeSpace Watch when the rug was pulled out from underneath us and the domain name expired. We've been concerning ourselves with securing a more permanent future for this network to little success.
4) There's always more going on than there appears to be.

Word. Without naming names it seems people do sometimes forget that those of us who do these things have lives to lead as well. You guys have done a hell of a lot focusing on TBP and BWO lately and that should be taken into account when evaluating just what this place has been up to. Yeah so your poll is out of date and the news isn't always up to date - who cares? It's not always been this way and it's not always going to be in the future and people really should be giving your team the kudos they deserve.

Also an issue is that there's not much to post news on sure we've had the sourcecode and plenty of campaigns, but nothing actually new. Announcing every new ship in TBP converted on the main FSW page is pointless, that's what the campaign sites are for.

...Me wonders why anyone thinks there will be something new for freespace...

Unless someone with the code develops a way to make a patch, for the updater to search for new mods... Lol... then, I'd be impressed... Otherwise, forget about it, and wait for the campaigns...

Running a major website is a major deal. I ran Game Spy's GTA Sentinel for about 1 and 1/2 years and it was the worst experience ever. Running a website can take the fun right out of a game.
