Exclamation AAAAHH.....The Inhumanity of it

I would dearly like to play FS1 again however the first movie has become corrupted somehow and it freezes my PC whenever I try to play it. I could just skip it but I wantto watch the first movie again. Does anybody know where I could download this movie and a way to make the substitute play in place of the original?

Yes the cd is scratched, but I have seen worse without any adverse effects.

Also what's up with Freespace Watch. My browser keeps timing me out.

Try burning a copy of your CD if you have a burner. My friend had a really scratched CD, but he put it in his burner, and the burned copy worked great. It'll get you the movie at least.

The movie itself, IIRC, isn't available for download because it's like 200 megs AND in a proprietary format (MVE) ... tools exist to turn the MVE into a self-playing EXE file, or some other formats, I believe, but Interplay got mad and those aren't distributed these days. MVE2EXE, I believe.

I'm sure if you looked you could find a copy, maybe you can extract it that way and play it.

And if that doesn't work then keep checking the stores. Trust me i've seen it before recently. From time to time some stores get old games to sell. The one I saw was the FS1/ST bundle

And Cheap too only $10.
