A launcher would be pretty good. The way I currently have it setup is to have two sets of data folders in the FS2 directory. Then I have two batch files that launch the FS2-launcher.exe and as soon as it's closed they rename the data folders to the correctly. Or if they're already correct they do nothing.

A launcher would be better though.

Yeah, testing it'd be a good idea too.

The team is not responsible for the installer that deleted FreeSpace 2 when uninstalling.

The team built installers worked just fine as far as I know. The instructions were vague but there were no problems.

IceFire: I know the team wasn't responsible for that. I am, however, poking fun at you.

I think we should have a FS2-mod launcher in GENERAL that allows to launch FS2 with several different "configurations".

ALL mods that are in development should be accessible via that launcher. You could play BWO , Derelict , Babylon Project ( even in different configurations , which means individual tables for all the campaigns....... )

The whole community should set this thing in motion , it would solve a lot of problems.

VP shuffler...... each campaign has a VP which is activated / deactivated. Might be tough to program an open-ended system for all camapigns, though.

how about just having a different /data/ directory for each mod.. then just say to the launcher "switch mod" then select a new /data/ directory..
different tables for different campaigns could be done by having the launcher able to change the /tables/ directory within the data directory..

ie if I've switched TBP, I can then switch the tables with a different part of the launcher.

it's nothing that can't be done with batch files.. just needs a UI to go on top of it.
