help needed
hi all, this really isnt a B5 topic, but more of a fred2 topic.
I need someone to help me debug this one mission from my campaign, you may recognize the problem: freezes when you commit.
I have removed missiles from every ship except the 12 in Alpha, Beta, and Delta. The nebula has been removed. Enemy fighters have been cut down by 1/5. The real sticky part is that the original, with about 100 enemy fighters coming in waves, a full nebula worked just fine (had minor bugs).
If anyone can point me in the right direction, id really appreciate it.

When it comes to Fred2 I'm always happy to help.
If I understand correctly you can view briefing, but when you press commit it trows you out, right?
Could you send that mission to me? I do everything what I can do to make it work. OK?

...looking at the number of ships I might have recognized the problem...
What's the size of mission? I noticed, that my system does not cooperate, if the mission has a size of more than 140 KB.

oh...crap. I had that bug awhile ago, and I think it has to do with table incompatibility that it doesn't catch first time around. I.E. a valid model name, but that model doesn't exist. I think I ended up remaking the mission that I had that bug on

Hmmmm.... A bug.
Very nice. I say this is really odd problem to me, it damn thing freezez when commit is pressed and it doesn't broke tonnage limit. I recreated it yesterday night and it worked right until I added GTT Argon and events.

Sometimes the events can crash the game when at that point. I have had it happen to me before. I deleted all of the events and re-wrote them (not identically) and the mission worked. Unfortunately I can't remember what the error was now. My best advice is to delete chunks of the events at a time to locate a faulty event and once localised, correct it.

Yes I know that event thing. Thats why I didn't made it identical in LtNarols orginal mission. I say that it is that GTT Argon or its events.

Hi all, sorry, kinda bed ridden right now, fighting off the flu. Funny thing aint it? catching the flu in the middle of texas...
If it is the Argo, then i'll keep fiddling with it. Yes i did rebuild the mission, it still didnt work. As for the events, i think i may have misstimed something, not sure. Thanks everyone.

I found that what caused "Shin no Ippou"(one-sided heart, attack method of Kenjutsu from shcool of Nikaido Heiho, which paralyzize your enemy with terror, those who have watched Rurouni Kenshin knows this)which freezez your computer was found on mission goal like this:
Is-iff
Friendly
Shivans ships...
Is-iff doesn't work so dont use it. If its one of your mission send it over, I check it.
