Quick question..

My computer went through a bunch of stuff, but suffice it to say I'll need to be reinstalling FS2 and TBP, but I installed a somewhat nicer video card (GF2MX as opposed to my old TNT), so does anyone know if such a video card can support the high-res textures? Thanks.

I'm not quite sure if I set everything up right. I installed all the files to the /data directory, but the textures don't quite seem different from back when I did not have them installed. I remember one of the staff posted a pic of the hangar bay of the Nova, and you could clearly read "Hangar", so I'm wondering what I might have done wrong.

Depends on your card and if you setup the registry change or not....

If you don't have a sharp attention to detail, then you are not going to notice a whole lot either.

Yeah, I posted that pic. It was misspelled as "Hanger" ... oops.

Here's the checklist to get hi-res art to work, I promise.

Install FS2 - be sure to do a custom install and install the high-res artwork package.
Install TBP core files, (music, anims, etc also)
Install TBP high-res pack last and be sure to hit yes on that checkbox it pops up, that'll add the registry tag to let you use the high-res textures.
Run FS2. Go to graphics options, be sure that it's set to detect high-res, detect your graphics options. Put screen res in 1024x768, x16 or x32bit should both work.
It's always worked for me.

Heh, I think I was the one who misspelled hanger in my earlier post actually. But thankfully I figured out to do that (before you posted this, but thanks for the effort). I must say it certainly makes a difference. I realized when it wouldn't let me pick 1024*768 over 640*480 that I probably had to install that option in the original install, even if it took up an extra couple hundred MB. I still get giddy just by making a quicky mission where a bunch of capships are duking it out. Sadly, 3 Sharlins beat 4 Novas, 4 Hyperions and 5 Olympi without any losses to themself, though only to lose two of them to the 16 furies I had sitting around.

hangar: a building with extensive floor area, for housing aircraft etc.

hanger: 1) a person or thing that hangs. 2) a shaped piece of wood or plastic etc. from which clothes may be hung.
