Happy B-day!
Kazan: I like it quite a bit but I have a few minor tweaking suggestions. Make a new layer and place a small white or matching color circle on the sun you have. Change the blend properties to "Dodge". It'll make the center less obvious and blend the spokes to the center better.
The other thing is decrease the brightness on the background nebula and stars.
I like the Hyperion down in the corner and the Minbari vessels passing on the side.

The only thing I find wrong with this is the sun. I think it should be more opaque. Seeing stars through a corona just doesn't look right. Other than that I love it.
I especially like how you have to really look for the Hyperion, that really brings home the theme of the image. And is that a Nova towards the center of the image? Or am I just imagining things?

Turn up the Gamma if you're having trouble spotting things. I sure didn't let the darkness beat me.

My only advice - it's a nice render, so there's not much to give - is make the contrast between the Novas and Hyperions and their respective rocks a little more noticable and do something with the upper right, either make the sun more refined or something or put something there so the picture's not so "off center" (all the action's happening on one side) ...
