Windows ME is not inherantly crap as you so eloquently put it
It is generally more stable and better optimised than Windows 98 but of course XP is head and shoulders above the rest. I'm getting my full copy of XP this Christmas

Triggy I dont whant to be too presumptious but I happen to know a friend who assembles PC and he and myself have some experience at PC malfunctions and assembling, I saw inumerous times windows Me go balistic with kernel problems, we couldnt find a pattern for a cause but it hapens on certain systems, Edwin is one such bad luck case (and me too, but swiched long ago ), I told him no to re-install Windows ME again because of his persistent Kernel errors, as I expected hes having those again , it was a question of time realy, a single program can trigger it, oce this hapens it will hapen again over and over for other programs as well, untill it becomes too frequent to use the PC normaly.
Windows ME is a recycled Win98, re-painted, cosmetic all over it, added with more crapy stuff that makes it work worse than before, and labeled saying "made in china" OS. Its not a new OS like win2k or XP. Not by far.

Oh man!!
Open a pof model and the click on the upper right button saying
"POF-editor" it has a paper and pencil symbol, or else you got an older version for sure get version "1.0 Beta 04b Build 26" this is the working one just click "help" and then "about modelview32"

haderak, you're right that Windows ME is not very good on certain computers (extreme understatement ).
It's main advantage over W98 is the newer drivers, but it suffers from all of the old W98/W95 flaws. It was not the step forward that it should have been.
I get the feeling it was originally going to be a less developed version of XP but MS copped out when they realised that it wouldn't be ready in time to release so they could make more money before the real XP came out
As I said, in my opinion XP is the way to go for the average home user.
