Question Please read this.....

Don't flame me for this please. First I'd like to say I do in fact own Freespace 2. All three CD's of it. :-) I've been playing The Babylon Project and loving it. What I don't love however, is that since I installed TBP, I can no longer play Freespace 2 without having a CD inserted. Now while I can insert a CD and play all well and fine, I don't like to use CD's unless I have to. My reasons are wear and tear on my not so inexpensive DVD-RAM drive and just the general inconvience of having to prove to the game that I own it every time I want to play it. So my question is this: Does anyone have or know where I can obtain a working NO-CD crack for Freespace 2 v1.20. The one from gamecopy world no longer works. It was the one I was using prior to TBP. I don't know why it no longer works but it doesn't. If anyone could help I would appreciate it. This is not a warez request. Thank you.

That's strange. I couldnt play FS2 without the CD anyway, before TBP.

With the exception of Diablo II in the drive, FreeSpace 2 will not work without the CD's in.

This is definately not something that the MOD "has done". If your so concerned about your DVD-RAM drive and you can actually afford one of those, you can just as easily affort a regular CD player to take the abuse.

Post CD-ROM

Well actually, whenever I finally get the money to upgrade my system I intend to do just that. The thing is, I have four IDE harddrives on the system, the DVD-RAM is SCSI. So I have no place to install a standard CD-ROM. I have a no-cd patch for v1.20 that did work for FS2. I just don't know why it doesn't work for TBP. I'm not saying the mod made it not work. I really don't know why. I was just wanting to not have to use the CD if I could get away with it. Putting another cd in wouldn't make much sense for me. I might as well use one of the game cd's. I didn't intend to offend anyone. It's just I do full installs with all my games when possible. And crack them so I don't have to use the CD. Nothing illegal about it. Just a personal preference.
