Battle of the Line

Hi.

First of all a BIG thank you for this REALLY COOL B5 Game.
After playing the 5 missions I can definately say it was worth waiting for it, even for such a long tiome

For me, there are just two little thing I'm missing in the "Battle of the Line" mission, and don't know if the first one has been mentioned yet.

1)

In the last mission it would be VERY COOL, if you recieve Sinclairs transmissions, just before he blacks out and was taken on board the minbari cruiser.
You know like: "Mitchel, you have a minbari fighter on your tail ...", "Oh my god.", "If I die I take you bastard with me", ...) All of them with the video message of course

Would it be possible to add and can you do that ?
PLEASE ....

2)

I really think there should be a little more ships and explosions in the battle of the line. I think this has been mentioned before.

Is it possible to do a special edition version of the battle of the line for people with very fast computers (like me ) ?

Thanks for this fantastic Game (Mod isn't apropriate for it)

Ronald

I tried doing the whole Sinclair approach, but it really didn't fit, so the mission takes place along a different portion of the Battle.

Lightbulb

Woudn't it fit, if you take the existing pilot anim and only add Sinclairs audio to it ?
I think this has to be possible. (... as if I would know something about modding FS2 )

P.S.: "Hold the line. No one gets trough, no matter what." has of course also to be included.

No...I mean it didn't fit into the way the mission was setup. Building The Battle of the Line didn't take long, conceptualizing a mission that would work in such an utterly hopeless situation was.

I see.
But I think it would be much fun, I you could battle it out, even if it looks (very, very, very) bad for earth.
I really would like to have "the battle of the line" mission with sinclairs transmissions :-)))
I know that after Sinclairs caption and interrogation, there must have been some hours, before the battle was over. (Minbari find out the truth, Grey council dicusses, ...) but maybe you fight, recieve sinclairs transmissions and then ... fight until you get killed
Like in Wing Commander 3, when you lose the wrong mission, and there is no more hope for winning.

I don't care, just get me in this damn starfury, so I can kick some minbari ...

Anyone else requests this, or am I "all alone in the night" ...

It will be part of the campaign I am producing in some form or other. I think one of the restrictions with TBP team is that they had to create playable missions with only five missions to convey the plot. They did a good job of this but it would be possible to include this area if you can extend the whole Battle of the Line over several discreet (sic) phases where EA loses and regroups each time finally putting everything into one last counter-attack to gain time for the people transports.

I don't know if it's possible I'm quite new to Fred2, but if the fourth mission in the campaign can be extended a bit by delaying the first wave's arrival you could put in Sinclair's transmissions. Remember the the majority of the transmissions occured before the Sharlins jump in, if the ships can be delayed enough to place the wavs then it can work. I recall the Independece War Buda 5 Minbari War Mod had the first contact mission using the communications from the Prometheus along with extras from players for the other ships and pilots, and it did the same for the Line using Alpha 7, Sinclair and Mitchell and all the extras.

It would require a bit of editing I'm sure the team would find unnecessary but you could begin with Alpha 7, solitary Starfury doing the recon way in front of the fleet and then stumbling onto the first wave of fighters and being detroyed using the wavs from ITB. Then shortly after the Sharlins jump in following Sinclair's communications with Mitchell. It would just be mostly ear candy but would definately add to the mood and tension of the mission and frankly would be damn cool. If it were possible I'd like to see it.
