Stay away from fighters who's reactor core is breaching 
This is definately harder and more demanding than playing with FreeSpace 2's ships, although quite a bit more like playing FS1 before shields were introduced.
Combat in this MOD is more difficult, but definately not impossible. Its my job to make sure that ships are balanced, that being the player does not suck, and that you have plenty of freedom to do what you want in the MOD (tactically) and still come out alive.
If we really wanted to fry the player (and some people would probably try and let it happen), we could have just let the Sharlin fire at fighters and capital ships alike with the same beams. Think how much a Heavy Neutron beam as an AAA beam would hurt.
