comment on Single missions

Ok, after I finished the mod missions I was glad to
find the single missions to pass my times. They are great
and lots of fun.... Not to mention some of them are impossible.

I hope that this site can also host these missions,
or at least have a link to terrasquadron. It will be cool
if there's a forum just fo these missions. This way
authurs might get encouraged to make more and better
missions.

The single missions reminded me way it's important to have
voiceacting... For example in narrow escape, the only signal
to jump was that 2 second message the last ship said the
jump drives are powered up. There wasn't anything on the
Instruction List...

While being attacked by waves of Nials, it's very easy to miss it
and miss the jump time. Maybe in the future, when a message is
sent in single missions without voice acting, authurs and add a
sound clip to remind us to look up.

Finally, in that same mission, since I missed my jump time and
the last EA ship was destroyed, I actually just sat there after
killing all the minbari fighters. I saw my wingmen went to attack
the two Sharlins and the Sharlins didn't fight back!

The life of the Sharlin dropped pretty quickly, so if you want to see
Starfurys kicking Sharlin's ass, go ahead and try this mission.
Remember to stay away from the Sharlins after all enemy fighters
are gone, they only fire at player.

I tried my own little mission, 8 starfurys vs 1 sharlin

the Sharlin killed them all ruthlessly... but I managed to get into a blind spot of the weapons

I sat there and kept shooting for 20 min and the sharlin got destroyed, and the shockwave killed me

Next to each mission theres a link named Forum wish takes you to the B5 Mission forum which I set aside from TS's forum. For people to post reviews comments pertaining to missions they got from the site.

Also I've recieved a few more missions over the weekend while I was gone I shoud get them up by tomorrow at the latest.

Although it adds about half an hour to the development time of a mission, voice acting and full voiced briefings/debriefings really adds atmosphere and helps a new user with the mission objectives. It's really simple to do as well:

i) Plug in a microphine
ii) Load Sound Editor (comes with Windows)
iii) Record your messages
iv) Add radio noises if necessary (found at Freespace2/data/voices/special/emptymsg.wav)
v) Load .wav file into Fred2
vi) Add a .avi file if desired (found at Freespace2/data/hud/)
vii) Sort out any related events

Couldn't be simpler, I've already done it with one mission and will do it with all future missions I make (I might even rope some of my friends into reading some of the parts).

Scratch the up by tomorrow at the latest that I posted earlier. My fiance decided that she would be taking her good ol time so I got them up tonight.

Someday I'll get the banner of the graphics wiz I have doing it.

Thanks guys for the great job and effort.
Between my 14 hour school/homework/lab
5 hours of sleep and what ever's left to eat
and sutff.... this mod and your single missions
is the thing to release some stress....
(unless you people make the missions impossible....
then it just adds to my stress :P)
