VW Main: THQ Doing Great as of Late

Posted by Orange:

Hey, that news subject rhymed! Look what I did, mommy! Anyway, I got two great press releases concerning THQ sent to me via e-mail today. The first reported that THQ is named in the top 200 small businesses by Forbes magazine. They try to make themselves sound good by that, but then it's later read in the press release that they were ranked 20th not 167th or some other odd number higher on the list. Way to go THQ!

Oh, you thought that was it? No. No. No. Today THQ also announced that their net income for the 3rd quarter of this year is up 144%. Brian Farrell, CEO of THQ, had this to say:

"Our third quarter performance exceeded our expectations. Highlights for the quarter included continued strong sales of our internally developed PlayStation 2 games, MX 2002 featuring Ricky Carmichael and Red Faction(TM), both of which contributed significantly to these outstanding results. We are pleased with the success of the PC version of Red Faction(TM), a top-ten title since its release according to NPD's TRST data. We reinforced our leadership position in the hand-held market with the release during the third quarter of ten new titles for Game Boy Advance."

Wow, THQ, kicking some ass, partially thanks to Volition. Hey, now we know that they can at least definitely afford those freebies that we love oh so much here at Volition Watch. I'll shut up now.
