fighters launching idea
got another idea the fighters launch like from the hangar but why not from inside the hangar.
example: nova has a red hangar in its nose and u can fly in that hangar till you hit the dors that r far away make it so the players fighter apears inside th hangar not behind the dors but in the middle of the novas nose hangar thenn it will be ewen cooler than now

Would be great! As far as I know, the Nova for example has to stand still for that, right?
Unfortunately launching fighters like from the Babylon 5 station or the Excalibur (<- that looks cool!) isn't possible, eh?
What about a communications animation of launching fighters when someone is saying "Launching fighters!"... Is that possible?

no the nova dosent have to stand still because the fighter is faster than nova and u kno thatyou will be inside nova then you know to activate your engiens and fly out and i sed in the middle of the nova hangar so you have a little time to do this
it's perfect

you CAN do that...
just set wings of ships to arrive in the docking bay of a ship with a docking bay...

What exactly do you mean? For player craft?
Btw: You know how the fighters launch from the Excalibur? Or from Bab5?

I really don't get the point of all this. You can launch fightes from the Nova's hanger bay. Thats no big deal. Having the player in there....is....whatever, not too impressive to me

If you knew some Wing Commander Fans, you would know...
And: Did you ever see Pilots being beamed to their Fighters in Bab5? It's something about realism. X-Wing had always some Animations of the Fighter being prepared in Hangar and taking off. In Alliance they even let you start from the Hangar with ingame graphics... Wing Commander had those cat starts like from an aircraftcarrier, aso. It's an atmosphere and realism matter.

I already proposed this idea to cptwhite...or was it tomcat... anywho
we can have missions starting in the orion station's or Nova's launching bay... it'll be a cool way to start....
you hear "all fighters launch!"
I think its a pretty impressive idea if I say so myself. now If I knew how to set waypoints, so i can have fellow wingmen find their way OUT of the hanger bay, I can make some missions

it strikes me as being something that'd work. I used to do it when I made X-Wing missions. the player started inside a Calamari cruiser's hanger with an initial velocity high enough that they'd be out of it and away before the ship hit them. (the bay was on the side of the ship)

Easy enough to do.... i've done it with a few ships, notably the SOD segomo;

(red bit)
I think the hanger is pretty similar (albeit bigger), and it works fine provided you get the paths right (that said, there is a wierd bug with ships flying through the hull before taking the path out, but I'll fix that).
and it is really good fun to do

Odd...looks alot like a Victory class carrier from Wing Commander 3. Take away that extra stuff around the front of the ship and there you go.

Never played WC, so I don't know what you mean..... but the actual fighter bay is pretty much stolen off of that ring station made for the b5 mod (can't remember the name)... it does actually look really good to launch from there, though.

yes that makes me remind wing commander. where did you get that ship ALDO?
Actualy I have what survived from the wing commander MOD it turns out that their capital ships needed only turrets. I have the Lexington the vesuvius the intrepid among others. Petty they gave up when they finished up the fighters. I can make them all work but dont have that much time. so they will rest in my HD for a while still.
correection: I did maake the intrpid work... only its turrets fire sideways.

Made it myself for my campaign
It's probably the best single thing I've made.
