 Wonderful Work
I want to be one of the many people to express their greatest bravo to the team of the mod. I remember hearing bits and pieces of it on the DC a long long time ago and I thought of nothing better then to fly in a star fury against a squadron of Nails and watch them blow my damn face off.
But seriously.. Who the heck does EA. think they where kidding?..
In any case I was most surprised to see the announcement of the mod being released with a campaign /demo behind it, usually something this big in undertaking doesn't have a lot of story to back it up.. Or none (Don't look at me All I did was stick a beam on a fighter, no missions nodda..)
Plus to add more kudos.. Ive been playing sim games since wing commander found the super nintendo (didn't have a comp back then so :P ) And ive been wowed few times in between the first wave a Frathi gun ship fire. To going up against the Star Destroyer Invincible, to actually having to run away from a crummy rebel shuttle in a tie fighter.. Accidentally jumping into a field of 5 star destroyers at point blank in X wing alliance (that was especially fun cause it felt like the movie.... call me chincy but it exhilarated me) avoiding asteroids in free space.. .. And the first time I was hit by a beam cannon in FS2 (I actually managed to get hit by the Slaser in FS1 how's that for unlucky?) ..
I left a lot out of this timeline but to recently In mission 1 of the demo.. Seeing that Nimbari ship open up with all Ion cannons .. Almost made me forget I was playing a game.. And that my dear visionaries of gaming goodness and godliness.. Is a rare Feat indeed.
Even more so since you guys aren't being "funded". A true humanitarian effort to bring a nearly dead existing universe of gaming to light.
I can only hope the other mods of B5 are as fortunate and I salute you all for giving me one hell of a fun time.
