take the name of the campaign

The Babel Effect: what does Babel mean??
1) to confuse or not to be able to talk correctly
2) in the bible the tower of babel was to reach the heavens God destroyed it and made everyone not able to understand each other, so is this a way for the GTVA to lose communication or not be able to speak to each other. Or the Shivans find a way to communicate with us finally, besides killing us(that in itself is communication)

So am i anywhere close to what might happen Ace??

Laomedon

in Greek mythology, king of Troy. When Laomedon failed to pay Poseidon, Apollo, and King Aeacus for building the walls of Troy, Poseidon sent a sea monster to ravage the land. Total catastrophe could be averted only by the sacrifice of Laomedon's daughter, Hesione. Laomedon offered Hercules a pair of immortal horses if he would rescue his daughter. Hercules slew the sea monster and saved Hesione but Laomedon refused to give him the horses. In revenge, Hercules sacked Troy and killed Laomedon and all his sons except Priam, who became the new king of Troy.

so Laomedon is a faction that will screw up and cause a huge catastrophe?? or is the result of a huge catastrophe??

...If they cannot communicate, they can't be ordered. If they can't be ordered, they are scrambled. Scrambled fighters do not fare as well as ones with prime directives... *thinks*

In Twilight the Laomedon Conclave was fielding technologies which could be interpreted as either warding off the Shivans, or disrupting communications through ETAK based technologies.

The exact specifications on the technology will be more appearant in tBE, however in Twilight some limitations can be observed.

So one could distrupt shivans communications altogether or control them that way. there's two possibilities here.

Please don't make tBE another campaign where some rebel faction tries to use the Shivans to take over the GTVA. The Shivans are the most powerful force in the known galaxy, with advanced ships and tactics, yet in quite a few user made campaigns they come under the control of mere humans. Now that's just not right.

You have nothing to worry about Iron Major, the great destroyers earn their title back during the course of tBE.

As for the Laomedon Conclave, check out the fiction on the tBE homepage as it will show that not everything meets the eye as for what would appear to be "insert Terran rebel faction #5!"
