This is my first topic so i'm just curious too see what the actual origins of the shivans (before they annihilated the ancients)
I tend to think that they were genetically engineered but turned on thier masters (whoever or whatever they are)

In theory, the shivans have some sort of "hive Mind" right? Well, if they are a hivelike creature, it would be safe to say the have different castes for example

Worker/Drones (the shivans we all know about)

Soldiers (even more vicious varieties)

Queen/Leader ????

it's only a rough guess.

We should all hope that the more than rumored "freespace 3" does not get canned. or the is going to be a whole lot of disapointed gamers out there.

Actually, Skippy is the secret about the Shivans.

You see there is only one Shivan, and his true name is Skippy, Skippy flips out a lot and likes blowing up big balls of gas and dust after getting indegestion.

Of course, now that I've told you this, I've probably broken several non-disclosure acts and Volition's lawyers will come after me, nice knowing you all!

The Shivans don't actually have to be from anywhere at all...or maybe they are from subspace. We don't know.
