i don't have loads of knowledge of truespace but i think it could be possible to make them open and close via the rotation function in truespace, can it be told to only rotate from err..... 10 to 90 degrees.
But it this was possible it would ony open, close, open, close, ony open, close, open, close..........

yup modeled and textured that one myself although the texturing is as basic as you can get - but it works out half decent so its ok - as for the fis opening and closing - thats not going to happen well it could be done - 1 change per mission but would probally be easier to just have 2 models - 1 in battle mode like that one and the other in cruiser configuration with the fins out

Cr@zYdAvE: That wouldn't work....you only specify what rotates and the speed at which it rotates.

Unless someone finds something hidden in FS2 code to do that its not possible.

Its either open or closed....or we can do both....

you can do the subobject - destroy it witha sexp command and the debris for the subobect is the open fin - but you cant undo it sadly even with the repair sexp
