Movements of Light and Shadow

How complete is your Shadow 'crab model? In the new shots it almost looks like it's coloured plain grey.. the texture is kinda odd.. it could have bigger patterns.. or is it so that we could also actually see that thing??

It's still in beta stages. One of the D'oh:s of it is that the textures are too dark. Cptwhite propably just added gamma to the textures for those pictures. So don't worry, it'll look much better when I'll finish it.

OK thanks for the information!

What about those beams in the screens, are those The Final beams?? I just think they would look better with a white/light core, quite like in the FS2 originally.
Few pics to show what I mean:

Green (minbari) beam: http://www.b5mg.com/~epsilon/dumpsite/mitchdem.jpg

Violet (shadow) beam: http://www.b5mg.com/~epsilon/dumpsite/Shadowchase2.jpg

Other could also comment on the beams!!

the pics are Kazans modified texture...i told him they looked dodgy but no no no he reckons theyre better....anyway the proper shadow texture is much draker.....since there is no background in the pics he lightened them up a little to be able to see them......if you want to look what the "official" "beta" texture looks like go and look at the pictures section i will be adding a picture to it in a minute...just to please you fussy people.....idont know we give you some screenies and all you do it complain ! ;p just kidding

just thought i would share my thoughts with you on the shadow beams - they're kinda a pale purple - they dont shout out - high energy - they need to be more intense

You'll probably have to use dark purples if you want it to be visable.

First post, incredable mod, i've been watching it's progress for a long time, and all the new screenshots forced me to register here just to say WOW.

CptWhite has his screen gamma up to high - plus almost all the shots you see it has additional brightness due to weapons fire, explosions, etc

Also, its important to layer the beams (FS2 does this a whole lot) to give the proper effect of the beam being shot. We'll be working hard to bring an authentic shot as possible.
