i just wondered what the situation is with bombers, do we have to imclude bombers to fight capital ships???

i want to do damage with my star fury like it should be, i dont mean the miniscule damage seen in freespace 2 im talking like whats seen in the show, 10-15 furies possibly giving a capital a good hiding, with the chance of winning, my gun fire to actually affect a ships hull percentage instead of just getting subs. so is this possible???? come on you know it makes sense!

I guess it's possible. But it might not work all that well in the FS2 engine.

That depends how many hitpoints the capship has... Yes?
1000 hp freighter: ka-boom!
1000000 hp destroyer: no change

Badger's are cannon ships and they are the EA's primary bomber.

The role of a StarFury is to support friendly capital ships in a big engagement. A group of StarFuries can seriously disable and damage (down to 10%) a capital ship and let the friendly capital ship make the final blow. Badgers can do the job themselves with heavy fighter mounted guns and torpedo like missiles.

Its basically an Aurora with a rear turret and torpedoes. Although some place have added a gatling gun which we picked up on (we want to have the two fairly distinguishable).

It was seen in A Voice in the Wilderness Part 2..and perhaps other places. Seem to be mostly used on Hyperion and Midwinter's.
