Sierra doesn't have the licence anymore, does it? They're just sitting on the video and sound material (by some of the original actors), as well as that nearly-finished game itself

They suck. There's something going on, but as the Firstones forum has been fu><0red up for so long... I haven't really been following.

The last I remember was "Do you believe in the power of 5?"

i hope it does make it out someday somehow cause it really does look good - i know this b5 mod looks good too - but the flight model on that will be good too and the graphics looks better than freespace 2 ones

Obviously they would be better than us. Hands down.

We're making an alternative if that doesn't happen. At least you'll get some kind of B5 action.

Besides, perhaps a MOD for FS2 would drum up a good bit of interest in ITF.
As for Rick, we know they'll never quit

I understand that they will never finish the game (though hope is all we have), but why dont they bring out a "beta", so at least we can enjoy the engine, flying around those huge ships and the station DAMNIT, why can't somebody do at least that?!! The programmers have put so much work into it, why can't someone just take what's rotting in Sierra's departments and publish a downloadable demo, even IF the final game will never come out!
Actually, I'd like to write S14 or Sierra about that.

Someones not up to date...LOL!
OK, Sierra CANNOT do that because it NO LONGER has the rights to B5, S14 can't do it because SIERRA has the code.

S14 MUST buy it BEFORE it can release the demo (top of list once they get it).
currently the BEST thing for us to do is nothing, just sit back and wait, no Sierra bashing either!!! S14 will have news soon, and it looks VERY promising the the game WILL be made!!!! (VERY promising, I mean, best it's looked in a LONG time!)

Nobody answered my question yet, why do you need the rights for B5 if you want to bring out a freeware/demo? If it was so, all the mods or "I've found Her" couldn't exist, aint I right?

oops, freeware, yea,
well, Sierra COULD do that, but why would they? it would just make people mad at them for canning the game, and they would not make and money from it. ($$$ is all they seem to care about right now)
S14 will release the demo ASAP though, once they get the code.
