I'm pretty sure he's talking about server-side includes, or SSI. They include parts of pages or scripts on the fly at the server before the code is sent to your browser (hence the name), and work on pages that have the commands embedded and have an .shtml extension. (actually, couldn't you make it work on .html pages too if you edited Apache's httpd.conf?)

Thats exactly what SSI is, Jennings made the entire page into SSI, i had only the side done, but he did the top and bottom as SSI too, so now if i wanted to change the top of United Space, i would only have to edit one file and everything would change.

yeah and it's about time too, in the past we've had to deal with free servers who dont even let you use ssi or cgi-bin.
