New question For ya, Ice...
I watched the trailer again, and a thought struck me, (yes, a real one, and no, not too bad it wasn't a brick) Why is it that Sol's forces are still using those outdated fighters? With over 32 years of peace, wouldn't they have created say, an arsenal of new fighters an bombers to replace the Apollo, Valkyrie, and Athena?

ever thought that they may have not had the materials or even the raw elements to create them?
maybe a material needed for proper cold fusion is only available outside Sol? (meaning they can keep the old fighters buring but creating new reactors is impossible)

i beleive its deuterium or somethign that was stated as the fuel for the fusion reactors that if i'm not mistaken is heavy water which can be extracted from the ocean as for the raw materials there an awful lot of asteroids and stuff in the sol systemnevermind the reasources on the planets themselfs to top it all off this is a game and we dont have to think about supply issues it just needs to look good be new and fun
limited resources as you say (i doubt it just harder to get to but LIMITLESS resources in the time scale we are commenting on) i would think sol would want to design the best fighters and bombers they possably could to counter low numbers if their resources were limited.

Yeah, they would figure ways to create a more energy efficient ship, wouldn't they? If you got nine, and an engine uses eleven... reconfigure the engine, right?

i dont think earth is a badly off with reasources as people would think wasn't the population of cappella only 2 million or something and that was one of tha largest colonys earth has at the moment 6 billion people on it imagine how many by the time the game is set - and i think the reasources of the sol system are upto providing anything the sol government wants personally i want to see the sol governmen give the gtva a beating

BTW, with close to 10 billion people, as soon as the first GTVA ship came through, I think it would have been swarmed... Kinda like a Terran Missile Turret getting shot at by the interceptors from 12 protoss carriers
