Because I'm just a bit curious WTF is going on w/ the bar...

Well, my guess is your guesses are wrong. Oops, dang, I'm not guessing.

Seriously, The Bar is hosted on a free server, and the free server people say they're doing a 'server upgrade'

I talked to Fraz, and I came up with two possibilities:

1) They're trying to figure out how to reboot their NT server. Hell, it's not supposed to crash!

2) Their UNIX sysadmin left, and they are trying to figure out this root thing. I mean, they redyed their hair two days ago, there aren't any roots!

Anyways, we don't know when it'll be back.
