More Species! (Max 8, but extendable!)

yeah.. the species can be named what ever you want - the names in the first post are just my preprecossor define ids, which probably are not even going to be used, they're just there incase we want to
lets think of 8 species
1 humans
2 minbari
3 centauri
4 narn
5 vorlons
6 shadows
well.. already got the major ones covered with two entries to spare... hmmm
and BTW: each species gets 35 briefing icons, 2 flyby sounds, it's own shieldhit animation [a hidden feature V already wrote, and just gave everyone the same shieldhit the hardcode-way], it's own fred2 color... do i really have to keep bragging?
(this isn't commited to cvs _yet_)
right now i have MAX_SPECIES_NAMES defined to 8

Well I'd say Drazi and Drakh.
Drakh because they are just about the main race in Season 5 and A Call to Arms aside from the EA, Minbari, Centauri and Narn.
Drazi because they are by far the most militarised of the League worlds and have a major arc storyline based upon them and the Centauri.
First Ones, Vree, Thirdspace Aliens, ISA and Brakiri all come close (with several others not being really in contention), especially the ISA. I guess it really depends on when the campaign is focussed on as if there is a major focus on after 2262 then the ISA become far more important than the Drazi but if you concentrate mainly on the first four seasons then it must be the Drazi as they are involved in the Centauri conflict, etc. and the ISA don't even exist at this time.

A generic non-aligned category would probably do well. Alot of those species don't have a canon fighter or bomber style craft anyways.

I think the Pak'ma'ra and the Gaim where two of them.

I'd go with the Brakiri and the Drazi. They field the next-most recognisable ships in Babylon 5. Though we never see the Brakiri shoot in the show, for some peculiar reason.

I agree with that. The League would probably cover anyone who didn't fit into the other slots.

The League/ISA would make a good choice but I still maintain that the Drakh would make a better choice than the First Ones. Not only do the First Ones not have any fighters/bombers (thus making them unplayable as the player) but they barely got involved in galactic events (aside from a couple of moments with the Walkers of Sigma 957 and the Into the Fire battle). The Drakh however have a variety of ships (limited but still encompassing all relevant classes) and were heavily involved in the post Shadow storylines in B5, A Call to Arms and Crusade.

btw: you can override the species default engine stuff on a per-ship basis
