Very nice...
I just watched some episodes of BBC's excellent The Planets documentary... can't wait for the sense of 'being there' with those! (Well, actually I can, it's just an expression.)

You do realize that that didn't make sense, don't you?
You can bet there are nebulae "behind" almost everything, just pick the right direction. If you mean you haven't seen real-life photos of Jupiter with a nebula behind it, did it occur to you that the luminosity of the planet simply overwhelms the faint light from a distant nebula? If we were to be accurate, I guess we shouldn't have any (or at least not as many) nebulae in FS2 as we do... Naked eye wouldn't really be able to see them like they look like in the pretty long-exposure telescope photos anyway. They aren't even really colored like you see them in magazines and the net, they're almost always so-called false color images for the purpose of bringing out those details.
Don't try to criticize the scientific 'accuracy' of an arcade game, and definitely not without thinking it over. The nebulae are pretty, they're there to fill the void - just stars wouldn't be as nice. They're something we recognize and they give the player a feeling of being in space. You can edit them out if want more realism, but it'll never get as real as it "should be".
Just enjoy the eye candy.

This Picture of Earth would help making -Battle of the Line- more "WOW".
Great Work.
Question: Where can i read what Ships, Stations and so on will be in the next release?

No list exists because we don't have one. Whatever is done...will be available.
(just to reiterate)

Will there be any inclusion of planetary bombardment? For the evil among us?

Well... that's entirely up to mission designers. It's doable, I guess - has anyone actually experimented with that yet, if it looks good?
