C'mon guys, just give the kid his ISO's, thru mIRC or something, it's 100% legal, yes you're reading it right, it's 100% legal to send someone FS2 ISO's!
So please do it if you have the real ISO's, please.

You don't need a credit card for EBAY, you won't be getting it from an e-mail, 'cause it's over a gig, I think the SCP might be planning on uploading fs2 sometime, but I'm not sure.

The demo, yes. The entire game, no. Uploading the entire game raises far too many legal issues to be safe.

On EBAY did you search for Freespace2, or Freespace 2? Last time I checked there were plenty of copies, but there is a space between Freespace and 2.

its been stated many times before, you can give away FS2 to friends as long as you don't sell it.
along with releasing the sourcecode and the fact that you have openly said you would send it to people on HLP before this, I'd say it'd be ok..

yes, but i'm wary... there's a difference giving a copy to someone, and hosting it publicly for all the world to download...
along with releasing the sourcecode and the fact that you have openly said you would send it to people on HLP before this, I'd say it'd be ok..
and i have sent a copy to various people, from HLP and otherwise, but i don't want to be hasty about uploading the entire three CD content.

Yeah but, anyone who didnt buy one much much earlier really wouldnt be on this board around 3 years after its release. we got some real junkies here who dont have any way to get a copy. I would suggest putting it on, but only for a short period of time. Because some people have virtually no way of getting a copy of this ( now i have my brothers credit card ) but some arent that lucky.
So, in conclusion I LIKE CHEESE!

Guys...however you go about doing things....do not do it here. We have a contract with our host...and regardless of the legal grey area that FreeSpace 2 may seem to reside in, we cannot practically do something like that on this site.
Please take it elsewhere.

Iono if this will help, but FS2 has been recently uploaded to the classic games site -- the-underdogs.org. It's fairly legal, and I assure you that is NOT a warez site... that's where I got FS2 anyway. Few quirks:
No movies/cutscenes except for the ending.
No voice briefings
Cracked file, can't UPGRADE (try http://www.gamecopyworld.com/ to see if there is a way to upgrade and still use a crack)
UPDATE
Checking out Gamecopyworld.com I found a patch that added a NO-CD crack for version 1.20, but you need the original EXE. Ummm... just curious, does anyone wanna email me the 1.00 executable? Pleaseeeee :-d. I wanna upgrade to 1.2...
Another quick request if you don't mind... is there any place that I can download the cutscenes and the briefing vocals? I'm willing to invest time into downloading itbecause I have broadband so... anybody?

So theoretically, to remedy that if you still have the original FS2 installed and can't play it for some reason, is to retain the stu_fs2.vp file because that has all of the voices, correct? 'Cause I'm missing a disc still, and want to play through the entire campaign.
