Exclamation Texturing Related Utile Hints

What u need is :
***a aplication that is designed for 2d image processing a real app not paint, a aplication that support layers (Photoshop,PSP, Corel Photopaint, GIMP -this is GNU free appication almost same functionality like photoshop.. http://www2.arnes.si/~sopjsimo/gimp/ or gimp.org/~win32)
***depending on how u do the maps. u need Lithium Unwrapper to make UV maps (like unfolding the model and obtain the texture maps for it in order to process them later) <b>or</b> we can u supply the UV map so u don't need to extract the map.. but in this case L:ithium is very important to visualize what are u texturing or witch part are working on.
***truespace not really necesary since we only need the Lithium model plus maps *.LUM + *bMP

Important tutorials:
http://www.xwaupgrade.com/tutorials/tutorial.htm this are the best tutorial i saw until now for low poly models..it is important the procedures used to achieve the goals ..all 2d app hase those options..
a tuttorial related to the use of Lithgium and all about FS2 modeling is IP andrews tutorial.


Now go and make your self needed..

Its no big deal, I took 1 month to learn the basics and textured 1 ship in the process.

Besides theres several motivations and advantages for those who join:

-youll have access to beta stuff of all kinds.
-youll have access to ships that are ready much sooner than the public (ex. R2/R3 ships that are even now ingame, including B5 station alfa)
-youll have our gratitude and the privilege of your life to be our servent

without any new blood we will take tons of time, its realy important to us that someone willing to commit a fair amount of time to this joins in.
We could already have R2 in the "shelves" if we had 2 or more texturers at full steam. R3 would follow very shorthly (compared to the lenght of thime between R1-R2)

Like Tomcat says, there's a bit on using Lithium Unwrapper here. You can also get the application itself from the What You'll Need page:

Lith makes UV mapping models incredibly easy. If you get a TBP model to texture you can even use Lith to see where parts of the template texture map appear on the 3D model itself. It's a fantastic program.

I'll weigh a bit in here too. We need community support to help keep this going. This is the only total conversion of FS2 ever created and what were doing is immense in proportion and scope...we need the continual support of our current members and new members to help us on our road to completion.

I'm pretty busy with work and other projects, and I admit I've never made a model skin, but I CAN make graphics like logos, nose art, menu interface graphics, web graphics, tshirt designs, etc. I know it's not exactly what this thread is asking for, but it's SOMETHING, right?
