You`ve installed a mod haven`t you?
The problem is that mods often replace other ships or weapons etc. Go to the fresspace2\data\tables directory and rename the ships.tbl file to something like Disabled-Ships.tbl
That will solve your immediate problem
The best thing to do is to copy your data drawer every time you install want to install a mod and install new mods in this new drawer.
I`ve got more information on how to do this in my FAQ. It's a good habit anyway and it's most likely that when the Source Code Project starts supporting multiple mods that it will also use a similar system.

Compaired to a Sathanas...maybe. Compaired to any other singular warship OR combined fleet of warships in the game? No.
Face it...the Colossus was DESIGNED to combat multiple warships at the same time in a firing arc that covers pretty much the entire vessel. There are not many aspects where a warship of serious power could sit and actually do any damage without being subjugated or exposed to a powerful beam weapon.
The Colossus was NOT designed to combat a singular warship of similar magnitude.

Perhaps to itself but wasn't it designed with the express purpose of taking on the Lucifer?

Indeed, it was made to fight various smaller cap ships, not same sized opponent.
But above of all it was build to be a sign of power of GTVA, its meaning to engourage GTVA units and make enemy surrender before the fight.
As usual portrait of power is destroyed and so it happened, since everybody always aims to head, not body...
Unfortunantly Shivan appeared to be Hydra...

ok, this thread just broke the record of going of topic, only after two posts!
anyway, i already tried to rename the ships.tbl, nothing happened. i copied the entire game folder to asnother drive before installing the mods, but somehow none of the .tbl files made it. so if anyone can mailme a copy of the original .tbl files i would be very gratefull

Just delete everything 'cept your player files in the 'data' directory, and FS2 will use the default ships.tbl inside the VP files.

Well, sooner or later, most threads are gonna go OT.
About the Lucy: Terrans and Vasudans werent sure if there was another Lucy out there. At the time, the technology of the Lucy was far far superior, and GTA/PVN just didnt want to risk looking for one and finding out. The Colossus was built to protect and, yes, intimidate the enemy (just in time for NTF). But like IceFire said, its clear it wasnt built to take on itself or a ship like a Colossus. Its somewhat like defending by attacking.

We answered this over at HLP, but here it is again (In case it was somebody else asking, not sure who asked at HLP );
You're playing with the fs1port correct? Go to the site and download the Clash of the Titans II fix. it will then work.
