No voice in user made missions

My first post here!

I've played freespace 1 and 2 and I've installed a couple of user made missions or campaigns and voices never show up during missions even after copying the .wav files in the voice subdirectories.
I suspect it could be that the program assigned to play those files isn't compatible with freespace. i have a SoundBlaster Live X-Gamer and plextor CD-RW drive and the program assigned is that from the Plextor installation cd I suppose it would be better to use windows 98SE default , is that true?

Which missions? I haven't run into many user made missions with voice files period...

If its just one mission...perhaps the author neglected to test it on another system and the links to the voice files are all wrong.

Which missions? I haven't run into many user made missions with voice files period...

If its just one mission...perhaps the author neglected to test it on another system and the links to the voice files are all wrong.

the one I have now is rites of passage; it came with the CD of freespace2 but adding the voices i found in volition watch did nothing ; I did not install the mission file i downloaded, i just used the file that came with the cd; i will try using the downloaded file.
i had another one, a campaign i do not have installed now and i don't remember the name. i may post that later.
