I was just wondering, the Freespace fanatic I am, where can I get Summoner. I've looked at every store in town, and can't find it. I'm really getting annoyed, because I've heard some good things about this game.

NOTE: I'm NOT asking for warez. If the game isn't available ( Freespace2 is EXTREMELY hard to come by ) like Freespace2, I would just like the know so I can stop hunting.

No reason you should be flamed for a perfectly good question.

Have you tried Amazon? Also your local video/games rental place might have an ex-rental copy, well I expect a few other people might know somewhere....

Some people mod the multiplayer game using hex editors and the like, not sure about the standard game tho'

There some cheats for the PS2 version.....

I didn't mean like cheating, overkill MODs really stink. Anyway, does Summoner have a mission/world editor/creator? I know the only thing that has kept Freespace2 alive is the mission editor.

Agreed, and I don't think there is a mission editor. It is very much dictated by the storyline, and if you changed it, the story (which is good) would not make sense.......

Sorry, misunderstanding, I meant, are there single missions in the game i.e-don't belong to the story. And can you create new scenarios?

Thanks. I'm loking into buying it now. Anyway, you'll have to excuse my ignorance, I come from the Freespace2 community. We MOD, hack, and change everything in Freespace2.

Good luck finding Summoner 1, it can be hard to find sometimes......

Good luck finding fs2 anymore. I did find Summoner 1 in my local computer store. It is pretty nice. How do you open those .vbm animations? They are sweet, and some of them would look awesome in fs2.

FYI, fs1 plus the Silent Threat expansion is only ten dollars at Wal-Mart or some place like that. fs2 used to be twenty dollars, but you'll have to look REAL hard to find it anywhere. It is, how ever, completely legal to burn a copy. says so in the liscense when you install it.

I got a .vpp viewer from off of Descent-Manager.com. I had a look at some of the music. Very reminiscant of Freespace2 ambience tracks.
