How can I use the in-game voice messaging funktion of freespace 2? the microphone test in the multiplayer options is working and i can voice-chat in the mission briefings, but i have no idea, how i can speak in game...

Try pressing 1-4 to actually choose who to send the chat to.

Try pressing and holding the key. This is covered in the manual (somewhere)

It's called "tilde" universally but it gives me this

½

O.o

And yeah, like karajorma said, you gotta hold the things (AJ THINK, never tried it ingame, annoys the hell out of me/everyone else)
