Uhhhh

Well today is not the first BIRTHDAY of Red Faction, seeing as I got it in June of '01.

But yes, the UT2003 demo WAS sexy, and even on my GOOD but not state of the art rig, it still ran at 20 FPS!

Here's what I have, so if you have at least what I do or higher, you're good to go:

Pentium 3 466 MHZ Celeron
192 Megs SDRAM
VisionTek Xtasy nVidia GeForce2 MX200 PCI
Full-Duplex soundcard (for voice - Sound Blaster 16 PCI would do, but I'd recommend an Audigy)
At least a 10 gig HD (a few hundred minimum for installation, but I recommend more)

Here is what the readme.txt file says as far as RAM goes:

64 Megs RAM - Swapping occurs very often, causing undesirable performance, bad lag, and choppy framerate (hiccups)

128 megs RAM - Swapping occurs moderately, but choppy framerate can be fixed by changing the world detail level to low.

192 - 256 megs RAM - Swapping occurs rarely, enjoy!

As for the video card, I'd recommend a GeForce4 TI 4200 with 64 MB RAM (I get the series mixed up a lot so I'm not a Düm Amerikaner )

A GeForce2 WILL work and at a decent pace. (Going from 15 - 30 FPS, though with a lot of dead flying bodies and gore, it DOES sometimes slow down to like 2 for 5 second intervals)

Hope you guys pay attention to that!

BTW I might be getting the PC RF, either that or RTCW - GOTY...

In either case, WAHHHHHOOOOOOOOOOOO!

O well its the first birthday for the PC version. Pssss on the PS2. I dislike consoles greatly. I need my mouse and keyboard to play any game.

Ever try to play UT on PS2? The controls are horrible.

As for the system specs and the demo...im fine. I have to say, the 4 hours I played it last night, I didnt recieve any lag at all. Not once.
