program to remove voice from audio files or vice versa?

Anyone know a name of one? I remember some guys on a t.v. show talking about one but I forget the name of it.

That is almost impossible!

There are karaoke programs out there. They work on stereo files only based on the fact that the voice lies in the middle of the stereo field. But you can never get rid of the voice without hurting the sound or music. There are always some frequencies missing...at least I can say that about wav files. Works with Cool Edit pro, too...

Can't tell anything on Dolby, etc...but I guess it is the same story there.

..why do ask, what do you need?

Send me the MP3 to yogi@jo-loeschner.de and I try to get the voice out of it.
