Exclamation Docking problem

There appears to be something wrong with the dock point definers: when I ask for rearm the support ship approaches, attempts to dock and 'disappears'... It is still detectable for sensors but definetely not visually. Its distance and speed counts change wildly (looks random but it isn't) and the indicator moves very fast all over the background (A way to solve problems for the game engine? ). The ship obeys orders but cannot be used for anything useful.

This is a problem because in many missions docking (especially using the support ship class as an 'invader' for capture purposes) is essential for the mission logic to proceed. I'm not sure whether this problem occurs only with the support ship or with any model (never gotten that far ), but it makes impossible to play most of the missions from the mission archive. It makes me angry .

As I recall this problem was in the first release. It was however fixed in the version 1.1.
You have downloaded the update? If not, you better get it then! If you have, something is screwed.

Sorry this took so long... It was my birthday a few days ago and I have not been "able" to write anything .

Well I did have the patch installed so I tried reinstalling it but that wasn't of any use. Then I reinstalled the MOD and patched it -no results, the support ship always behaved like a drunken teen.

Then I decided to do something I had so far refused from doing (you know, "Maybe I'll want to play this again someday, you never know" -thing... That's why I burned the FS2\Data directory to a CD): Delete all MOD crap (5 different MODs! ) I had there on my HD. 448 MB of models, textures, backgrounds, music, sound effects, briefing voice, table files etc. Since the data is no longer overpopulating my HD the game runs more smoothly. And what's best: after reinstalling the MOD and patching it everything worked just fine.

So, what's the point in this story? Overpopulation is a very, VERY bad thing: it may prevent you from doing the things you want (and like) the most. That's something to remember .
