Question Two FREDing Questions

Question no. 1...

In the wing's editor, what does the wing threshold option change?

Question no. 2...

I have a ship, that for plot reasons should not be destroyed in a mission. So I've set it to invulnerable. But there's the problem. Again, for plot reasons, it is heavily armed with beam cannons that need to be destroyed. But the invulnerability thing won't let me do that.

Still with me?

Ok, so i added an event that would make the ship vulnerable after the order for destroying the beam cannons is given. But then, the player has the ability to destroy the target, which I don't want. So, I added another event which says if the hull integrity of the ship drops below 40% to set the hull integrity back to 100%.

Here's where the question bit comes in.

But supposing the same 40% was reached again. Add another event to counter it I suppose. But is there an easier way which means I wouldn't have to have dozens of the same event?

Or is there a completely easier way to do what I'm trying to do here?

1) Wing threshhold is the number of ships left in that wing before the next wave will appear. It is set to zero by default but there is no reason why you can`t set it to 1 or 2 so that when a couple of ships remain more warp in.
Be aware that FS2 won`t let you ever have more than 6 ships in a wing at any time and adjusts the threshold to compensate for this.

2) Have you tried using ship-guardian instead? I know that this allows a ship to be damaged but not destroyed. I`ve never tried to see if that meant that subsystems could still be destroyed.
