Quick Freespace Check

Hello.

I love Freespace 2 and am in the process of reinstalling it for my new Windows XP Athlon 1900+ Radeon 8500 setup. I can't wait to see this great buddy of mine again (slobber.) This is going to be quite a chore not because of the game but because of getting my Saitek setup up and running and programmed properly. The Saitek programming software doesn't work with XP, but there are third party alternatives that it's time for me to learn.

But, alas, it really has been awhile and I thought I would get a quick pulse of the community.

The community seems to still be active although most of the links on the Volition site do not work. And the Volition boards do not seem to work. Has this become the central meeting spot? Are the Volition boards just down temporarily?

And last, the question that's going to make you roll your eyes and vomit on your keyboard, is there any news on any possibility of this great series continuing?

Nope.

FreeSpace 2 is the last game.

unles Volition is keeping it a secret.

But the greedy and moany Interplay won't allow Volition to make more money off of FreeSpace.

There are cool, user created campaigns hanging around.

Blackwater Operations is soon to be out.....i hope soon anyway.
