Summoner Watch: First Impressions @ RPG Vault
Posted by Orange:
Oh my god! Finally somewhat of a review for the Summoner PC version. I have no idea why, but there haven't been any real reviews for the PC version yet! I'm eagerly anxious to think, so at least we get these first impressions provided by RPG Vault. The author hasn't gotten very far in the game, yet, but he does have his initial impressions. He provides some high praise for the game and offers little insight on his minor dislikes about the game (minor). I suggest you check it out if you are on the verge of buying it, but wanted some more info as hopefully it will convince you to get it.
Here's an interesting little bit:
In terms of early impressions, Summoner certainly seems to be a well-crafted, stable game, although I should state that I did install the patch that became available the day after the game shipped. Being story-driven, it's a relatively linear playing experience, although with the variety of side quests noted above. In addition, character development is not as open-ended or as detailed as some players might like. While some players are likely to consider these factors as negatives, they contribute significantly to the game's rich gameworld with its extensive backstory and strong story. As a consequence, other players may well consider them to be strengths; it's strictly a matter of personal preference.
Yay.
