Question about shields

I understand that a small amount of "energy shielding" was added to the Starfury in order to protect it from blasts coming from enemy flak and explosions but...

1-This shielding does not protect AT ALL from , say, plasma bolts, right?

2-In the energy management control, if I remove all power from this shield regenerator and redirect it to, say, engines, will blasts hurt more my starfighter?

In the next release, it'd be kewl if you could remove the shielding control, to make it more realistic and to avoid the player wondering if that control does anything at all; for example, put all fighters in "no shields" mode and finding a way so that blasts dont hurt as much as now do.

BTW, could you implement turbulence while under the effect of the engine "exhaust" of a big ship?

New screenies are impressive! Why dont you put them in 1024x768, so that i can have a new desktop wallpaper?

With TAP, I havent found the need to do that with the ships, but then again, the HW ships are significantly tougher... :/

Well...the 10 points of shields does protect you a bit from a pulse or plasma cannon, but it frankly doesn't have enough of an impact to really matter.

There's no way to properly remove the shield control without removing the shields. You want to die extra quickly, then turn off your shields. I don't even notice it anymore...its not worth trying to remove. It really only applies to the hardcore enthusiasts who must have everything perfect and thats not going to happen.

Fly up close to an engine and there is turbulence.

Its quicker and nicer for us to display pictures in 640x480. Desktops we can do separately.
