Question about the Sunhawk and Firehawk

How fast will those two be going?? as fast as the Whitestar? I remember a scene from the first major battle against the Shadows in which a Battlecrab was being chased by 2 Whitestars and a Sunhawk, at full speed

Full speed is such a relative concept. The only phrase that actually means anything is full acceleration. As that is the case then just because some ships kept up with the Whitestar, it doesn't mean a thing other than possibly their manouevrability (if it was shown). If the Sunhawk was shown to accelerate from standstill along with the Whitestars at maximum burn, then some data can be conferred.

Acceleration is *sortof* transfered to maximum speed in FreeSpace 2. The Sunhawk Firehawk will probably go at about 45m/s or 50m/s. Not quite sure. They will behave sort of like GTB Ursa's. The WhiteStar will behave more like a GTF Perseus (talking FS2).

It'll depend on how it balances down to the player. I expect both the WhiteStar and Sunhawk will be balanced similarly in regards to other ships with the WhiteStar with more speed and power.

It's also possible that they were flying formation to bring the most firepower to bear.
