Trying to make a new Minbari ship!

Well a model is as far as it will go, I dont know how to put it in game and I dont want to really work at finishing it . I would post pics, but the ftp site for my webpage is down lets just say run EA run! Here are the specs for the Valen class Warcruiser:

Length : 3150 m

Fighters : 70

Mass : 350.4 million metric tons

Powersource :
Hyperspace Tap

Weaponsystem :
6 Super Quantum Discharge Cannons(Three at the aft, Three at the front)
40 Gravitic Fusion Beam Cannons
30 Gravitic Neutron Cannons
45 Pulsed Neutron Cannons
55 Pulsed Fusion Cannons
25 Fusion\Neutron Missile Launchers
Multiple Anti-Fighter pulse cannons

Defensesystem :
15-20 meter re-enforced Vorlon Bio-Armored hull
Vorlon Repair systems
Vorlon Shields
50 Tractor Beams
Minbari Stealth Device

It's big it's bad and you better run! I know it's probly overkill but the size and weapon loadout can be changed it by somechance someone likes it (I dont think so). I will try to get pics up soon.

I have to see this... if you have problems converting the model just send it to Eternal One...

I still laugh at those weight and weaponry quotes from B5Tech

I know your Valen class ship is new but it is still in the same context as B5Tech for the description. All I am doing is poking fun at them and asking "has anyone ever seen 84 discrete beam ports and 42 EMP points on the Sharlin?"

BTW, I DO use B5Tech for a proportion of my information! It's just knowing what information to take. Their numbers on fighters, length, power sources and defences are generally quite good.

Sorry for all that, it looks like a kick-ass ship and if you have a model for it then I would like to see such a monstrosity just to have a laugh thinking about the look on the faces of anyone who was about to fight it

Hell if the minbari whats a new battle of the line it will be 20000 EA ships against 1 Valen warcruiser, and the minbari have the advantage!!!!

Well... I got this little program here I used it and now I have a .pof version of my model, now I just dont know how to get it in the game to see it... Also dose it need to how textures?...

There is a ship that will be in Legend of the Rangers called The Valen....just a thought that another name might be appropriate in light of that.

I know the whitestar, Lennier said that it was the HULL that stopped the weapon energy and left only the kinetic impact. He didn't talk about shields.

Yes his almost exact words were, "The White Stars have a Vorlon Bio-Armor layer. It is a 'Smart' armor that 'remembers' the weapons that it has been hit by and adjusts itself to absorb the energy from that weapon leaving only the physical impact."

Pera, is not "shields" like on Star Trek. The Vorlons do have a protective energy barrier around their ships (ie. when that Shadow ship sliced its beam across the Vorlon Heavy Cruiser in a particular scene). The WhiteStar has a similar such system. The ship learns how better to deflect the energy away from the innards of the ship.

My guess is with the WhiteStar it can only deflect so much so many times in so many places before everything starts getting through.

In CGI, its a thin energy shield of some sort so everyone has called it a shield.

take a good look at the full clip of that Vorlon dreadnought. The Shadow beam is actually impacting the Vorlon's weapon as it charges, or something like that. I've seen it over and over again, it's not a shield system. There are no shields in Babylon 5 in the same sense as in Star Trek. The thing with the White Star, dunno what that is. How many other times have we seen energy being dispersed along a ship when hit? Once to my best knowledge (Starfury's attacking a Centauri battlecruiser). How many times do we see direct hits and no shield like phenomena? Many many times. Star Trek=shields=cheap, Babylon 5=no shields in that sense=more realistic

Like I said, I doubt it always works and depends largely on the kind of shot being fired at it.

The Shadow vessel as someone pointed out may have fired a warning shot first (the Shadows and Vorlons do have a strange relationship) but the Vorlon Cruiser was not powering its weapons when the Shadow vessel fired.

Whether shields are in Babylon 5 or not does not make having shields being bad or not having them good. Energy shields are a theoretical reality and therefore there is no reason why the Whitestar should not have some rudimentary shield system.

A similar form of shielding is also provided by EA interceptors as part of their energy web created that protect against plasma and beam weapons.

Either those "shields" are a CGI error or it's an ability of bio-armors. Dunno.

And we don't know real happenings of Vorlon vs. Shadow fights, what were Shadows thinking, did they fired a warning shot first?
