A question about the armaments of Babylon 5
How heavily armed is Babylon 5, and with which kind of weapons? I looked at b5 tech, but that site is not 100 % true.

From what I remember, it has three different types of weapons - no x-ray lasers, but Nova-style cannons, interceptor cannons, and some ... other ... cannnon. It's also not bristling with guns, I mean, sure it's armed, but it's no orbital defense platform.

Well, we have been also thinking about this as we are releasing B5 in next release.
Some pictures:
Designed for interceptor and anti-fighter role. (No interceptors in FS2, so no interceptors in TBP)

Few long range plasma mortars, quite ineffective against small fighters.

This gun is protecting the hangar and C&C, similar but smaller versions are located here and there.

This gun is an Omega killer. It can do some serious damage to any capital ship.

This information is not canon, we just had to think something up and especially gun2 specs may be changed.
B5 also have a navigation beam, it's only for navigation assistance so it's not a weapon. But if someone wants to replace it with an Omega beam... Or we can equip the slot with a light beam cannon, perhaps similar to that on Midwinters. But the turret is locked by default.

But if there are no interceptors or weapons like that, won't the station be vulnerable to fighter attacks in the mod? ( And I mean the heavy fighters, like the Badger)

There will be that weapon, I just meant it can't be used as an interceptor. Interceptors are designed to shoot down incoming enemy fire, but this can't be done in FS2. That gun will be used as anti-fighter turret.

Look or effect does not count!
In FS2 we can't shoot down incoming enemy fire, like other primary weapons. Missiles can be shot down but not pulses. That's what I mean. The gun will be used as an anti-fighter turret, and that's what it is designed for.

Of course we'll balance them, dogfighting around B5 is not impossible if B5 is hostile. There are quite a lot of blind spots, B5 relies heavily on it's fighter support.
For "impossible" dogfights there is Babylon 4.

The guns around the hangers and C&C are you going to make them fire barrel by barrel or is that not possibe,and the plasma mortars type of fire. And will the omega killers recoil?

That beam was used to convey information like navigation or messages.
The lack of interceptors does not mean that the guns do not exist, just that they do not "intercept" enemy shots.
That "mortar" has been referred to as an interceptor and given a rapid enough rate of fire should be pretty effective at being anti-fighter. However, B5 is mainly dependent on it's fighter support as can be seen by multiple combats where the majority of enemy fighters are taken out by friendly fighters.
