Release 2 - Completion

When is Release 2 supposed to be completed? What war will it cover? You guys should create A Call to Arms campaign, with the Drakh scumbags and all that good stuff. Also, when do we get to finally see Babylon 5? And destroy it?

sigh.....have you read any of the other threads on this forum?

I guess not...no set date has been given and it is going to be a little bit before the next release.

I suggest you guys use that announcement forum and make the topic in all caps saying THE NEXT RELEASE WILL BE DONE WHEN IT'S DONE!!

that just might help a little bit with these topics

Release 2 will be done when it's done. The team's not giving any release dates, and considering they're not getting paid for this, I think that's wise. (e.g. "It's done when it's done" is fine for TBP but not so much for 3D Realms...)

And, although unconfirmed, (because no official list exists AFAIK) R2 will most likely have B5 itself. I hear it's covering the EA Civil War era, read some old threads, you'll get a ton of good info about it.

Hopefully I will learn from mistakes. The last time I always gave out of dates that it comes out in September 7th etc.etc. (I mean the first release), after a while people got angry, to me of course.

So this is the best solution... you will know when Release 2 is out.

Screaming for release dates again? these guys don't get paid, therefore they're not working to a deadline, and i'd much rather wait for it to be released when it's finished, and not a huge ball of ****e. What i'm saying is, all good things come to those who wait, this thing took two years to get up and running i'm definitely sure that you can wait just a little while longer for it to be released a relatively perfect "product"

From what I've heard flying around here, this is an approximate list of what ships might be included in release 2:

Babylon 5 (maybe)
EA Omega (most definately)
EA Invader (breaching pod; likely)
EA Thunderbolt Star Fury (also a high possibility)
EA Badger Star Fury (ditto)
EA Midwinter (someone check me on this)
EA Warlock (50%)
MF White Star (or is it ISA White Star?; quite possible)

Probably a few ships from the League, and possibly a couple from the Narn and Centauri. If someone would correct me on this...

In release 3 we might expect the ISA Blue Star, ISA Victory, Shadow & Vorlon ships, a remote possibility that the Drakh will make an appearance.

Not sure if they're going to make a Babylon 4 or not, and no clue as to what release they might squeeze it into.

-- EA FIGHTERS--

EA Aurora
-Texturing of debris pieces.

EA Aurora, stealth variant
-Also known as Black Omega Fury. Model created (but not decided yet will it be used, or will the Aurora just get retextured), texturing of all components needed.

EA Badger
-Lod0 uv mapped, texture map creation under work by Tomcat. Since it shares most maps with Aurora, I'll handle the lodding. Currently texturing portions of the lods that share Aurora's textures. Later on, also texturing of the debris pieces needed.

EA Thunderbolt
-Lod0 uv mapped, texture map creation under work by Tomcat. Once I receive the maps, I'll handle the lodding. I won't do that sooner, since I can't optimize anything without knowing the looks. Later on, also texturing of the debris pieces needed.

-- EA CAPITAL SHIPS--

EA Olympus
-Destroyed subsystem geometry&texturing of them. 2 missile banks to be added. Texturing of the debris pieces. Cptwhite has said that he might retexture this. Do it if you like, but it's not necessary at all.

EA Hyperion
-Lodding and the creation of the destroyed subsystem&texturing in progress by me. Lodding ETA end of the week, for others unknown.

EA Midwinter
-Variant of the Hyperion. The difference is the different turrets along it's side. I will handle this along the Hyperion.

EA Omega
-Under texturing by me (All components). Creating destroyed subobject geometry&debris pieces. Dummy version being converted by Shark.

EA Omega-X
-Not yet modeled.

--EA INSTALLATIONS--

EA Orion
-Texturing of debris pieces

EA Babylon 4
-Not modeled.

EA Babylon 5
-In progress of modeling and texturing.

--RAIDERS--

Battle Wagon
-Mesh not completed. Tomcat told me that there's actually 2 versions of this seen in the show, can anyone verify this?

--EA FREIGHTERS--

EA Freighter, type 01
-Lodding, creation of destroyed geometry&texturing, and texturing of debris pieces. Under work by me, ETA next week, or the week after

EA Freighter, type 02
-Type 01 is 8-container version, this is 4. Not modeled, but shouldn't be though

EA Freighter, type 03
-The freighter seen in Crusde. Not modeled.

EA Fuel Tanker
-Not modeled, will be created out of Freighter 01

--EA CIVILIAN SHIPS--

EA Asimov
-Modeled, but mesh will need changes.

EA Earth Force 1
-Not modeled.

**Add here more. No more EA civilian ships were seen in the show, but I think we should consider making our own ones.**

--EA MISC STUFF--

EA Eject Pod
-Starfury eject pod. Not modeled.

EA Invader Pod
-Modeled.

EA Explorer
-Modeled. If anyone doesn't have an objection, I'd like to texture this mammoth

G.O.D Satellite
-Not modeled.

EA Construction Fury
-Not modeled

EA Camera Drone
-Not modeled

--EA JUMPGATES--

Jumpgate type 1
-Lodding, creation of destroyed geometry&texturing, debris pieces.

Jumpgate type 2
-More narrow-handed version type 1. Modeled.

This is what were aiming for with release 2 as of about 2/3 weeks ago. Release 2 has a lot of work to be done but EA will basically be complete after, we are also finishing correcting and adding to stuff done in release 1.

About the battlewagons...yes 2 are seen in the show. One is seen in season 1(fighters launched from rings of the ship) and the second is seen in very beginning minutes of ThridSpace and appears to have been destroyed by the WSF(white star fleet).

That sounds like a good list there CptWhite. Has it been established the next campaign will be the EA Civil War? It's a shame you are not using the Heavy Starfury (not the Badger), I would have loved to fly that fighter in combat.

Mesh I believe is the model of the ship, without textures and stuff.

Nononono.... Whitestars only disabled and disarmed the ship...
And then escorted them to some Drazi jail, or something...
And I heard that the first one (season 1 wagon) was destroyed by Shadows... Dunno if this is true...

Yup, that's right. At the end of Signs and Portents a Shadow Battlecrab slices it in half and rescues the Eye and Refa (by unknown means).

That list of ships sounds pretty complete for EA civil war purposes (assuming that the not yet modelled ships are ultimately modelled). I hope the team takes their time and makes the release as complete as feasible. I know you listed EA ships only, but the Whitestar was an integral part of the civil war so is essential for the campaign IMHO

I assume ships like Victory and Warlock will appear in Shadow War release. i.e. They were only created and used against the Drakh and from then on.

That list is a tad old already, and I told at the end of the message in the internal forum that I most definately forgot some off. And I did, atleast 5 so far

And Warlock will be in the release 2. I just forgot it from that list, silly me.
