If you're new to this community and want to get going on MODs, well, this post should definitely help you. Contained within it ae the single most vital 2 utilities you may need to modify Red Faction. You should thank our good 'ole German pal, Heiko Herrmann for making the utilities I'm speaking of: VPView and VPPBuilder.

VPView is a program that allows you to view .VP and .VPP files (game files for all Volition games) and has internal picture and animation support.

VPPBuilder modifies only Summoner and Red Faction game files (.VPP) and has recently been updated to fix a few bugs. The source code has also been recently released.

If you're trying to get your foot in the big door of the Red Faction community (this one you can't really GeoMod your way around), I would recommend getting these utilities and taking a chance at MODing.
