Post What Is The Babylon Project

Don't want to sound like an outsider or nothing, Will somebody tell me what is the babylon project and how can I get it. Previous versions, anything. Is it a freespace 2 campaign. or is it just a game in it self. and I don't seme to see any way to donload it. but the forum is asking questions about it. Can Some body just give me a rating and a small description on this game or campaign, and I would be real greatfull.

go to http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/babylon/

all your answers are there.

but if you are a lazy ass:

the babylon project was a dream given form... ahem... the babylon project is a TOTAL CONVERSION of Freespace 2. A mod of freespace 2. It changes all the ships/campaigns/everything from FS2, to Babylon 5 stuff.

it sounds like you're not a babylon 5 fan, but a FS2 one... in that case, find out more about Babylon 5, you'll love it

http://freespace.volitionwatch.com/babylon <- webpage, has download links.

It's a total conversion mod for Freespace 2. You need FS2 to play it, yes.

Rating? Well, everyone here will probably give it 10/10, 5/5, 100%, or whatever else a perfect score is. Then again, we're biased

Edit: Hey, stop that! Posting while I'm typing...

Babylon 5 was a sci-fi series that was possibly more popular abroad than in the Uk..... I only saw the first 2 series really.

Basically, it had a really good 5-year (?) storyline ste over the whole set of series, and involved a large unmber of races, etc.

b5tech.com has a summary of the sotryline and tech...

The TC is basically transfroming FS2 into a new game... as far as I can see, only the 3d engine really remains the same... all interface screens, sounds, ect have been replaced.

Yeah.. a great 5 year storyline (well, the last 3 years of that being when it got really good), then thanks to the WONDERFUL networks, the last two years had to be condensed into one.

Then they said "oh. it IS popular. Let's have another season."

"But the story's ended"

"Do it anyway"

So then the 5th year was kinda.. poo.

Right... If there will be a Legend of the Rangers series, that would be what I call series 3, while Crusade would be series 2 then.

I'm the kind of b5'er that saw about 98% of the episodes and has loads on tape. I'm also the typo of B5'er that is aware that season 4 was actually meant to be the Shadow / Vorlon war, and Season 5 was meant to be the EA civil war. Sheridan becomes president. The ISA is formed. THE END.

According to JMS, if he had had cast iron guarantees that there were to be a fifth season then seaon four would have ended with the episode 'Intersections In Real Time' which is the 18th episode of the season as it happens. The EA civil war would have come to an end around episode three/four of season five.

Then as was always planned the difficult aftermath of peace would have to be dealt with - ISA, Centauri and telepath problems. To do this some season five exposition about Lockley and about the telepaths would have had to been lost (arguably the weakest areas of season five anyway).

JMS has always maintained that he wanted to look at a large scale conflict, its buildup and its aftermath.

BTW the plan had to change slightly anyway due to Claudia Christian leaving the cast and Tracy Scoggins being introduced.
