Compressed?
How much will you be able to compress the files before we download them. It will take my computer hours to download 75 megs.

Stop whining... You are not the only one. Besides, few hours here or there are meaningless when the result will be something like this

What do you mean don't whine. some of us have waited since the start for this mod to come and those of us with slower modems like 56k can't afford to spend days doanloading one file!!

75 mb isn't much... I used to download that sort of files all the time with my trusty old 3.6 kps modem And with my 5.6 kps modem over 200 mb files (took a lot of time but I got some patience )

You don't HAVE to download the entire package. Its segmented and not all of its required to play. By the way, it is compressed as much as is technologically possible.

Then you may want to get Getright...
I am one of those who have waited this longer than I wan't to remember. And I will download this mod even if it takes the whole day (when it finally will be made avaliable ). It is sad it takes so much of mine & yours & eweryones valuable time and money. But there you have it.

i'm not trying to cause an argument but please see my side.
You obviously havn't got the point i'm trying to make. I have patience but not a lot of time to excercise ti downloading. I'm 15, i have school and more importantly strict downloadaphobic parents who see a virus in every file, so i can only get away with 15-30mg files when they are not home and restricted to 2-5mgs when they are. I'm sure this is a similar problem for those who wave to go to work in the day.

Well . how about that ?
We make a rar. Then we pack the rar . then we pack the rar with the packed rar..
We do this till filesize is 1.3 MB
Then you can all put the mod on a 1.44 disc
I am sorry for people having inconveniences downloading TBP, but you cannot expect more from us than releasing the mod
- efficiently packed
- tweaked and improved many times
- tested
- for free
I have the impression this realisation didn't come to your brain yet .. Man ! This is the best FS2 modification ever and it even puts the main program to shame ! And you don't have to pay for it!
So , grab it when it's there and no more whining.
Well , continue with the "WORK FASTER" whining ( I love it seeing you all suffering from your greed ) but no more "MOM ! DAD! IT'S TOO BIG FOR MY MICKEY MOUSE MODEM" whining.
Thanks
Sincerely ,
SKULLAR , TBP team member

And your suggesting that some of us don't or didn't have to deal with the same problem because believe me, I did and so did others at one point or another.
Its easier getting a virus reading e-mail than it is downloading our MOD so we're really not too concerned.
Pretty much all of us goto school, or work, or both. We've spent countless thousands of hours on this. We're asking only for a few to download.
We CANNOT make it any smaller than it already is, unless you want to fly around soundless triangles. Take some time, download it in packs (get the eseentials first and then some of the extras later).

hey! could you actually do that?
But seriously, I know I already asked this but the team must have missed it. You said that the secondary downloads(music etc.) are already ready. Now would it be possible to release them a bit before the rest of the mod so that the poor modem users would have enough time to download them.

I don't know about you guys, but I DL at 2.5K a sec, and DL 100+ meg files all the time. so what if it takes three days to DL?!?!? I'm going to dl ALL the files, and play til my hearts content. (NEVER ENDING THAT IS!!!)
I have waited for SIX YEARS to fly in a starfury. I waited for THREE YEARS to get ITF, then I waited for FSF, then I waited for FSTC, now I'm waiting for IFH AND FSTC. you know what? I STILL have not flown a fury! I cannot even WATCH the trailer for B5 ITF anymore because if I did, I would be incoharent for the next few hours. I'm still waiting, but the wait is alost over, and I'm happy.
