Lightbulb Fighter beam weapons

I'm sure you guys have thought about this but I though I would mention it anyway.

In FS2 when you use cheats to cycle through your weapons there IS a fighter beam that comes up. It is the "targeting laser" and as far as I can tell, though it does no damage, it IS a perfectly usable fighter beam weapon. It looks right on the weapons mount, it is fixed to your ship, The only dissadvantage would be that it is a little hard to train this beam on a target. Given the supperiority of Nials in every other capacity, this might even act as a balancing factor. Try it out. See what you think. It is a blue beam but you could probably change that.

Like I said, I'm sure if this were a possibility you would already have capitalised on it. Just though I'd check.

Nope.

You can make it do damage, but it can't fire from more than 1 point, and it always fires from the same point. Also, kills made with it aren't counted, and it doesn't take any energy.
