You could try looking up some names of ships used in various wars (the Napoleonic Wars, for example). These are a couple of listing for naval vessels:

Look up the Babylon 5 Encyclopedia on any search engine. They have a fairly through list of all the Earthforce ship names, (usually) complete with class and captain.
