I have a model you might want to have a look at......

I was talking on MSN to a guy called Dragon Claw who I know from Freespace 2 Sector. He is one of the people involved in the Hidden Terror campaign mod.

Anyway, I showed him a lightwave model I had made to eventually be put into Klingon Academy and he said also to post about it on this forum to see if you might have a use for it.

It's a non cannon EA strike cruiser that I called the Maori.

2000 or so polys and 1800 or so points. The model is in 5 different pieces.

I realised that all the sizing for FS2 ships was done in the modeling stage so at the moment it would be about 1 and 1/2 time the size of the Sathanas but that is easily changed.

Seeing that your project is nearing completion, I doubt that you would have any use for this ship but I thought I would post anyway .

And I, just like everyone else am really looking forward to the release of this mod It looks great, gotta love B5 ships.

It is certainly an interesting design! It looks like a cross-between a Hyperion and Omega class

I have to see if TS can render wireframed like that, and make it glow... It probably could.... but then again, all I'd have to do it make it a dxf, and open it in PSP...

The polygon count is a bit high for a freespace model tho.

I like the model, but to me it doesn't look typically human... It's got a more modular design than any Terran ship I've seen for a start...
I dunno, it doesn't detract from the fact it's a class model tho

i cant say for certain but i'm pretty sure we are only using models that have appeared in the series films or crusade and afew posssibly afew others that are widely accepted

and anyway i not sure its looked entirely B5

well i cant say for certain best to take it up with ice or eternal 1

its a cool ship but somethign doesn't quite ring true to babylon 5 - but thats my personal opinion only

Personally, I think it would look a lot more B5 ish if the arms were dropped, and the 'nose' was made to look more like the omege (refering to placement and shape of fighterbay).

i think it looks like a fuel tanker. coz of the big round thing in the middle and that it doesn't look like it could take damage.
It would be a good science cruiser or fuel tanker.

the sphere's in the middle are it's experimental power unit.

I can see where it might be a science cruiser just but with those massive guns at the front it's never a tanker lol
