Angry A slightly pissed cptwhite (staff respond only please)

Go and have a look at our staff list.....

now how many of these people have actually done something that is useful for the mod. or more importantly are doing something for the mod. im going to go though every name listed there and give you my opinions on that person - a risky business i know but i feel some people are just staff members to get access to beta versions of our work.

alpha 1 - not enough talent. and is now not doing anything as no one has told him what to do, thats cos there isnt really anything he can do for the mod, until he learns to texture better.

blacksheep - solid team member, with work to prove it.

bobboau - once a core member now nowhere to be seen. creator of the sharlin and nial....then he disappeared for 2 weeks never to come back.... either he gets in contact or he should be removed from the staff list

cptwhite - me council member

darkblade - finally made a mission (after months of counter strke playing )

eternal 1 - grey council member

icefire - grey council member

IPandrews - creator of the vorlon fighter and the b5 station....still around

Kazan - creator of utilities - job done mostly

killmenow - created some weapons after which we used different ones anyway.... then went on a tangent creating star trek and star wars ships...cant remember any produce after this....he should clarify his position and intended work

max sterling - inscribed to texture and then never did anything. never heard of either. should be removed, he has other projects.

modeth - our "texture chief", well thats a load of rubbish...supplied us with some nice programs then disappeared with i "am busy and dont have time at mo" ....still in effect...my opinion is to remove him.

mr fury - scrpt writer and propoganda writer ......i expect to see things in the future otherwise i will toast you too !

repearman - left ages ago, founding member - should now be removed he's not interested.

rictor - kik .....hmm he never did anything and has'nt been seen for ages.

roy fokker - not seen him around for a while, never done anything, we've got be harsh....hes NOT a team worker and should be kicked.

seether - web guy

shark - model setup guy. newest member - working on stuff

skullar - bad humoured german. aslo my fellow 2d artist - grey council member

tomcat - chief modeller - grey council member

wingnut - once chief modeller, suggested he might help making more shadow ships but for purposes as to wether he should be staff....my feeling is no - he doesnt have enough to do with the work and his help should just be considered an outside source now - he wont care whether he's staff or not.

xaphod - forum humour goodness and modeller / texturer - good work

ok - i feel strongly that if someone isnt up-todate with the mod and supplying something at least every 2/3 months for the mod then they dont have the right to be staff. this doesnt mean we wont accept there work i just feel staff means your a regular contributor and someone who knows the current status and situation of the mod.

staff let me know what you think about this ......

Hmm. Staff is who updates his STAFF entry .
A good idea , I will do that at once.
Then we will see who is still there and who is NOT.
Lets say team members have to update their entry at least every 2 weeks or so.

I know that not even I update my plan every two weeks. My schedual is not condusive to that kind of regularity.

We can't really assign a number to removing a staff memeber (ie. not been active 2 weeks). We have to look at the situation. Tomcat is gone for 4 weeks and when he gets back he'll probably need a bit more time, but we know he gets work done.

But CptWhite is also right, we need some housecleaning, but it has nothing to do with a plan file.

geeeez so many lazy guyz lol
Somehow I'm missing in this dark list bt thats because I probably didnt finish my firs work. I'm taking it for too long but it will be sent to the team probably by this friday. finished LOd0 LOD1 LOD3 and have LOD2 at 50%. We also have to take inacount those who are in vacations with friends parents and girlfriend (whipp sound here ) . I'm willing to continue to texture further models preferrably ones with simpler geometry(the nial is a headache lol), with more simetries. like the frazi fighter or the g'quan or something else in this class of meshes. I like to have good ritm of work and not let something dragging for weeks, and also is better for me to organise things on my agenda if rate of work is predictable and regular. This way I may become a regullar texturer.

Unhappy

i know i am a nobody but it seems that the cap has BAB 5 as the major focus of his life... i love Bab 5 but i gotta pay the bills and go 2 school... BAB 5 is a place for last hopes last chances ....those people that have given stuff to you in the past should be given a chance 2 come back and help in the future do not throw them away like trash... TRu if they want out or have never done anything i understand.. they could leave or should leave... I have been makin mission... but now i feel like i should keep them 2 myself because i cant make missions everyday... or bother learning textures because there is no way to make new ships all the time. I just feel this is a bad way 2 conduct a MOD ... a free MOD.. who members do not get paid.. they do i for love LOVE oF BAB 5 .......... ps i am not a staff member and maybe never will...... but i thought u should tell u how i feel...

CptWhite. I haven't done anything because there hasn't been anything to do. Except now after the demo release I will try to make my own textures to Sunhawk and texture the bloody thing.

Also since I have been helping James Moores on his Operation Avatar campaign which has also kept me away from this mod. What else...? Oh yeah, my dumbass friend wants me to do a Counter-Strike level based on Salo's city library (too big for Half-Life engine). If you want to erase me from the staff... that's fine but there have been many good reasons to stay in the shadows in a bit. Now that the demo is soon to be released (when it's done) and there comes some voice acting, texturing, more mission making stuff. Then I'm going to get more active...

Just hold your horses...

You know what all i am hearing are excuses. I cant do my job cos i'm waiting for this. I try and do my job blah blah blah. Im choking on excuses !

Point is Fury your campiagns arent going to be realised for at least a year. How about learning something useful now. Ok I know many dont have as much spare time as I do at the moment.

I didnt know how to texture myself 3 months ago...I learned...ask questions and gained knowledge and now i know. Its a difficult path but I did it, and if I can do it anyone can.

All i am saying do something useful now. We can always use more texturers. Currently the only texturers are me eternal and xaphod. Skullar can do it if he decides to, tomcat and ipandrews have textured aswell, but we cant rely on these people for regular work. Haderak is in the stages of learning and he will hopefully be good as is wildlife, whom i have high hopes for.

Even if you take all these people into account we have to texture about 10 ships each. Well i am currently on my 4th ship (Tinashi, Sharlin, Olympus, Ringstation) and helped finish the jumpgate.

I also have been asked to texture the Warlock and Babylon 5 itself...after which i think i will have a long break from texturing, and maybe learn something else.......point is I'm getting a little tired of working on the mod and I'm wanting to cut down my work load...but i want the mod to continue at its current pace.....

I have plans for effects v3 and the ring station after which i wont do anything for a month or so...i'll get the warlock...done then hopefully babylon 5 for christmas......would make a nice christmas present for the mod and its fans after which we'll see but I know I'm gonna be hella busy and not to fussed about taking on more work.

I know I'm not on the list but I'm still doing an animation that could be used for the mod starting movie. I inquired a month ago and got some response.

quote:
I got the stuff a couple days ago Kaboom and I've been putting some ideas together and talking to a few team members. I'll send you an email with what I've been thinking about tonight. I've been out of town so I haven't been able to get a hold of you.

-Seether

Seether if your reading this please reply, and mail me with your thoughts, cause i never got a mail from you before. E-mail

I've got 3 scenes to go and some sound editing but the animation is almost done. I can post some pics but i don't have a site to put them on. There were some pics of my animation on Seether's ftp but I'm pretty sure they've been deleted by now.
Once I finish you guys can decide if it's good enough.

Where should i post the movie when it's done?

Seether is busy at the momenta dn not around very often.

You need to talk to kazan about conversion to freespace 2......i hope your taking into account how the movie is converted to mve

I know that an mve is 30 fps compiled series of tga ??? pictures or a specific resolution.....i wouldnt recommend anything over 30 seconds long or the file will be to huge to consider for the mod.

Hmm..
Let me get this right.

It's unfair slamming people just because they're busy. I've been busy recently. Now I'm working on more minbari stuff.. But if I hadn't just handed stuff in, then I'd still be busy. Doing this mod is fun, and it'll be a great thing to put on my CV, but I'd like to be able to put that I'd finished uni down there too.
Other people have similar commitments, commitments they have to stick to regardless of what they want to do.
So the staff list contains people that don't do work for the mod any more? So?
I'm more in favour of contacting the people who have yet to contribute before removing them completely.
And if people *have* contributed and now don't, I'm of the opinion that they should remain on the site - perhaps in a "past staff members" section - and be credited fully. If I said I wanted to quit, I would still want to be credited for the Lintira, for example.
Actually if we don't credit people who have contributed then we can get sued.

wha i dont get is there are people on the mod team who haven't done anything,
probly aint been to the site for ages either.

sent those people an e-mail askin if they want to remain in the mod and to contact someone to see what needs done.

and if they are to busy and have no time for the mod then remove them.

just let them know first.

and you should credit them, but isn't boboau the only one you aint heard from who done something in the mod?

Well the good news is, I've been rendering all the scenes in tga's. I guess I'll have to talk to kazan then, about the conversion.

I am tired to listen your whining about "why don't you do anything useful like texture?"

Fine, I have the Narn-Centauri and Drazi campaign scripts half-complete and four another outlines for possible campaigns.

Who says that I haven't done anything useful?
You can put that damn texturing to your arse.

I signed in as a storyboard writer and if that is not enough for youe whiners then so be it!

Why don't you appreciate the help you can have but instead you're always asking or even demanding more?

Yes, I am too tired to discuss with you why I don't texture or something, well no more excuses. I don't texture because I don't like it, I hate it and I have better things to do like studying or doing my homeworks.

Hey, I know. Why don't you find a new slave for yourselves to write the damn campaigns for you?

Yes, Mr. Does Not Do Anything Important is signing off!
Goodbye.
