Volition: VIOLATIONS = Hiring New Peeps
Posted by Orange:
I just checked up on the daily dosage of Volition news, and saw that they posted a hella long list of jobs on their site. Looks like THQ's been given them some fat paychecks. Anyways, here's the jobs that they have available, to of the strong requirements for the job are spelling their company name correctly (not really, but you'd hope so), and to relocate to Champaign, IL (serious about this one). Oh yeah, here's your list like I told you I was going to give you, but didn't:
- 3D Artist/Modeler
- Concept Artist
- Entry-Level Programmer
- Red Faction Level Designer
- Senior Programmer
- Texture Artist
- Writer[/list]
Oh yeah, if you want one of these jobs, go here. Please note that it may take a few hours to load on the highest of speeds in connections due to the fact that I just said "if you want one of these jobs", the problem is, everyone wants one of these jobs. So, um.. go.

I've seen a pattern with Volition, they seem to like to hire a lot of entry-level guys. I would assume they have good training, but also have strict requirements. I heard it's good to not just know the C++ that college degrees get ya, but learn plain 'ole C too (DaveB likes that).

I would apply with my l33t level design skillz, but I can´t say that I live close to Champaign, nor can I move there right now. =(

I'm actually a relatively good texture artist and level designer, but I'm not interested. Got other things to do. And I don't live in the US. Last but not least.. I'm a little on the young side. =P

Wait until I age about 8 years and I'd be available for at least one of those (although I'm not sure what they would think about someone who does one job on-duty and a different one off - until Todd Miller, who probably does the same one on and off work).

The only off-duty job I've had so far is repeatedly calling the apartment management trying to get my water turned on.

I see. What do you do in your spare time, then?

My guess is what he does outside of his spare time. Working on websites and posting mostly nonsensical crap on bulletin boards.

Depends. So far the only stuff I've done in champaign is hang out with peeps or come to the office and play games.
But that's only because my apartment is pretty empty right now. I imagine I'll spend more time there after I get it all nice and hooked up. Right now the only time I'm at the apartment is to sleep. When there's something there to do, I might actually hang out there

If they keep that concept artist position open for 4 more years, I should have my Industrial Design Degree, and will try for it!
